Rising fog, lakeside early morning - one week later

18,5cm x 15cm  oil on acid free carton

To revisit an already painted scene and paint it again, is a challange I can recommend to anyone
painting plein air.
The aim is not to paint it exactly the same like the first. Even when the scenery is very simmilar, rising sun, fog over the waters ... the mood is still different, the atmosphere is never the same.
And I think this is the essence of painting.
Monet once said "... not to paint the subject but to paint what is between me and the subject..."
